Fairmount Pet Shoppe is committed to saving pets’ lives. We work with several shelters and rescue groups to find loving families for homeless pets. We sometimes have cats for adoption at the shop from Fairmount-based rescue, Green Street Rescue. If you are thinking of adding a pet to your life, think adoption first!

Fill out an application to adopt one of our cats with their rescue below. Please note that all application processing and communication regarding adoptions is done by the rescue workers, and the store staff cannot update you on the status of any applications.

Meet the mushroom brothers! These two boys are so sweet and full of kitten energy. The tabby is Morel and the tuxedo is Porcini. Update: Portia has been adopted! Meet our newest adoptable, Portia! This movie star is very sweet, and enjoys love and attention from relaxed individuals! She is a grey, black, and white tabby cat, and has a soft, short length coat. Her big green eyes radiate love and affection and she loves to cuddle and be held. Friendly and outgoing, Portia would make a lovely pet for anyone looking for a calm, relaxed little snuggle bug. Stop in today to give give her some love!

This sweet boy stunk of tuna when he was found so he was appropriately named Tuna! He’s a sweet but slightly shy kitty who warms up after a few head scratches. He enjoys the company of other cats but could also be a solo-kitty. He’s got beautiful long black fur that would require occasional brushing, which he seems to appreciate. This beautiful long haired girl was found at a construction site on a freezing Winter night. A construction worker named Daniel found her, so we named her Danielle after him. She is a very sweet girl who needs a bit of time to warm up but eventually she’ll be your best friend. Come on in to meet her today!

Meet Snowball! This darling little lady is a purring machine with beautiful blue eyes and a heart full of love. As with 60-80% of all-white cats with blue eyes, Snowball is deaf so take care not to surprise her! Though she may appear shy, give her time and a rub on the head and she will show you her belly and welcome your affection. Gentle and calm, she will blossom in a loving home and reward your care with consistent sweetness and excellent company.
